Memphis-Tennessee continues to be the epicenter of rock and roll, old-time country and the blues. Proof seems to be in the puddin' with this release by Memphis' own Bluff City Backsliders. This 8-piece super band is steeped in the Memphis music tradition armed with banjos, mandolins, a boogie woogie piano, fiddles and lap steel. Their sound seems to stretch from a porch in Appalachia to a street corner in Memphis to a parade in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The back of their album suggests that their music gives you "Temporary Healing of all Worldly Ills". If W.C. Handy and Memphis Minnie were still alive, they'd be dancin' hand in hand down Beale Street with a devilish fervor. It's that good!
