Big Joe Duskin, Big Joe Jumps Again (Yellow Dog). Boogie Woogie Piano lovers, rejoice! Mr. Duskin seems to have evaded fame (perhaps because his hometown Cincinnati was never recognized as a Blues hotbed), but he is a top-rank boogie player and singer. At 83, he is still in top form. The two songs (2, 8) with Peter Frampton (who recently moved to Cincinnati himself) are likely to get the most attention, but I think the best stuff on here are the tracks with just Mr. Duskin plus bass and drums. Try out You’re Gonna Miss Me (1), Get Out of My Way (3), or even the country classic North to Alaska (13). This is true Blues satisfaction. – NAD 10/04
