Its release date still five days away, Ain’t Got No Troubles is already earning Eden Brent rapturous praise from the likes of NPR Weekend Edition, NPR.org, Garden & Gun and USA Today. Eden’s dazzling new album officially comes out September 7 on Yellow Dog Records. Available digitally in advance of its nationwide release date, Ain’t Got No Troubles quickly rose to No. 1 on the iTunes blues chart and to No. 5 on the Amazon music chart on the strength of CD pre-orders.
Brent joined NPR Weekend Edition host Scott- Simon- in August to talk about her new album and the ironies inherent in blues music. Listen to their conversation here. Eden is also slated for an interview feature on the revered syndicated radio program American Routes- the week of- September- 15th.
“The recording sounds as if it were bootlegged in an obscure juke joint back in the 1920s… an expert channeler of old-time blueswomen… irresistibly fresh.” Those are among the many nice words that NPR.org’s Song of the Day had to say about the album’s title track. USA Today also gave special notice to Ain’t Got No Troubles, selecting it as their Playlist Pick of the Week. And Garden and Gun wrote a glowing piece on the album and especially about Eden’s always-entertaining live shows, saying, “Fantastic… onstage, she’s a dynamo, pounding the keys while she sings and hollers like she’s straight out of a juke joint.” Read the full article from Garden and Gun here.
